Programme for school parties visiting El Mas
- 09:30 – 10:15:
- Arrival and monitor introduction
- Introduction to horse riding
- Presentation about the riding centre (Model)
- Group photo of students and teachers
- 10:15 – 10:30:
- Free horses: We let a horse free in a closed arena so that the children can get used to being around horses
- 10:30 – 11:00:
- Tour of the riding centre
- Stall (where the horses live)
- Arenas (5 different types and sizes of arenas)
- The grounds (a short walk around the 65,000m2 of the riding centre)
- Wooden cabins (for anyone who wishes to stay at El Mas)
- 11:00 – 11:30:
- Break time under the pine trees in front of the restaurant (it is a restored 17th-century farmhouse)
- 11:30 – 12:30:
- Presentation on the different breeds of horses
- Group photo of the children on a carriage
- What horses eat
- Explanation about the horses’ bedding and how the stables are mucked out
- Hygiene, care, grooming, cleaning and greasing the riding hats
- The horse’s tack, allowing the children to see a horse being saddled and prepared to be ridden
- 12:30 – 13:00:
- Demonstration of a Classic Dressage exercise
- 13:00 – 13:30:
- Demonstration of a jumping exercise
- 13:30 - 14:45:
- Lunch in the Restaurant
- After lunch activity: The greasy pole
- 14:45 – 15:15:
- Driving demonstration: With a marathon-type racing carriage
- 15:15 – 16:30:
- Each child will be given a ride on a horse, in a fenced arena and always with a monitor holding onto the reins. We will take photographs of the children on horseback, which we will send to the teachers a few days later so that they can hand them out at school./LI>
- 16:30 - 17:00:
- Each child is given a membership card
